The Montreux Jazz Festival has been around for half a decade, but it is as strong as ever. For the 51st edition, the organizers have curated a line-up that pays tribute to the foundational strength of jazz.
The festival by the lake is giving a stage to young talents and established acts. And the program guide reads like a “who’s who” of the music industry:
Grace Jones, Tom Jones, Pet Shop Boys, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Usher & The Roots, London Grammar, Erykah Badu, Solange, Kasabian, The Kills, Nicolas Jaar, The Lumineers, Passenger, Royal Blood, alt-j, Yello , Fleet Foxes, and Bonobo.
What we like about the Montreux Jazz Festival is that more than half of the concerts are free. And for those who simply like to feel the vibes without paying the admission, there will be plenty of food stands just outside the festival grounds.
