Once again this fall, tango meets street dance in Zürich.

Break the Tango is a whirlwind of a show which is sure to heat up the MAAG Halle! The choreographer, German Cornejo, has recruited a dozen of the most talented tango dancers from Argentina (along with a tango band and a singer who will perform live on the stage). Bring in the best break dancers from around the globe and you have yourself a dance show for all tastes.

Or as the organizers call it, "an epic mix of tango, break dance and live music."

Are you ready to "break the tango"?

When tradition meets modern times, all the rules are broken. While the tango dancers elegantly glide across the dance floor, the athletic break dancers create their own spectacle to songs from Adele to Otros Aires. The organizers state that "at first, it seems like an impossible combination which blends together as the show progresses."

When Break the Tango kicked off their tour in Zürich in 2016, it sold out all the shows. After touring Europe in 2017, the show was even performed in Bangkok in 2018. And now, we are in for a treat yet again as the passionate dancers return to Switzerland. The young tango choreographer, German Cornejo, is collaborating with Switzerland born Björn Meier, an internationally known break dancer who was in charge of said choreography in Break the Tango.
