DimiTRIgenerations Tour by Famiglia Dimitri (Feb 28 – May 31)

Clown Dimitri is a cultural icon for Switzerland. And for his 80th birthday, he is once again going on tour to spread his beautiful humor! Unlike his popular solo acts, Clown Dimitri is bringing along family members of two generations below: Daughters Masha and Nina Dimitri, as well as nephew Samuel.

The Birth of DimiTRIgenerations

One summer during my childhood, I had the unique chance of joining Scuola Teatro Dimitri in Verscio. Ever since, I have been fascinated by my namesake. It is the blend of acrobatics, humor and music which make your heart smile.

When I last watched Clown Dimitri perform a couple of years ago, I noticed that the audience was laughing along, no matter their age. What I love about Dimitri time and again is that his humor is never cheap, but thoughful and heartwearming instead.

Performing as a family of three generations: What a highlight in the Famiglia Dimitri family history! In DimiTRIgenerations, the Ticino based clown family is letting us in on their secret of conflict resolution.

What happens when three generations collide? We are due to find out. But one thing for sure is that each performer has found their own way of resolving generational conflicts: Full of energy, they might be cartwheeling across the stage while singing and playing an instrument. (Yes, they are that talented!)

I can promise you that you will leave this show so energized that you might do cartwheels yourself… It does not happen very often that three generations appear on stage, all at once: Nonno Dimitri, daughters Masha and Nina, as well as Samuel and family friend Silvana.
