The father\, Alain Carabinier\, originally grew up in Geneva. An adventurer at heart\, he toured the world by bus\, horse\, and sailboat before he finally settled in Canada. \n \nYou can still feel that adventurous spirit in his offsprings' show that is TIMBER! It is a spectacle where traditional folk music\, risky aerial acrobatics\, and daredevil tricks (some involving saws!) are combined in an authentic\, backcountry way. And if you find time to breathe\, you might even smell the fresh-cut pine logs and the sweat of lumberjacks! \nTIMBER! is a fast\, unconventional and thus unforgettable show which Zürich has never seen before! \n

DESCRIPTION:Growing up in more than one culture can be enriching. \nTake Christina Hoffmann: Up until seven years ago\, this up-and-coming artist has spent her life in Germany and Greece. As a bilingual career woman with a background in arts and mathematics\, Christina is a natural when it comes to maneuvering in multiple societies. \nWhen she moved to Zürich in 2009\, Christina Hoffmann arrived with her easel\, an empty canvas and acrylic paint in all the rainbow’s colors. Also\, she brought a bundle of experience in hosting art exhibits. \nWhere is home?\nThose who grew up on the intersection of multiple cultures can probably relate: When it comes to answering life’s big questions\, things can get tricky. \n \nChristina soon began to express her feelings about identity on canvas. Over the years\, she has produced dozens of abstract works dealing with the overarching theme of identity. \nSome of the topics throughout Christina’s art include a yearning for home\, a study on separation and finally\, her personal transformation. \nWe are curious to see the paintings in real life (Christina frequently posts them on her Facebook page). DESCRIPTION:Interested in this summer’s food hotspots? Let us tell you about one of them. \nZurich’s Street Food Festival is back. Back with more mouthwatering food\, more entertainment and with a new location. This time\, it takes place in the former freight depot (Güterbahnhof). Around 70 street food vendors will take over the industrial area\, creating it a food mecca for several stretched weekends during this July and September. \nOnce you have eaten your way through the salty and savory main dishes\, you can indulge in a delicious dessert.
