It is a collaboration of the museum\, the Japanese Embassy in Switzerland\, and the Japanese Association of Bern. \n\n\n\nThe Bern Historical Museum opens at 10 AM on both days while the festival program is set to begin around noon. \n\n\n\nDay admission is 16 francs for adults and 8 francs for children aged 6 to 16. DESCRIPTION:Copyright Lange Nacht der Zürcher Museen\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery first Saturday of September\, several dozen Zürich museums open their doors for a special night of cultural events: Lange Nacht der Museen. \n\n\n\nNight owls\, listen up: whether you are interested in art and culture\, are crazy about science and technology\, or just fancy a romantic ferry ride\, you will surely be able to enjoy Zürich's museums at night. \n\n\n\nThe so-called "Long Night of Zürich Museums" starts at 6 PM and does not close until 2 AM the following morning. There will be something for everyone\, from photography workshops for kids to some special shows for people with hearing or visual impairments. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExperience Zürich culture at night\n\n\n\nIt is no secret that Zürich is a city with money\, so culture is very well supported. Housing some of the finest museums and art galleries in Switzerland\, Zürich enjoys a vibrant cultural scene. The two most popular museums in Zurich are the Kunsthaus Zürich art museum\, as well as the Swiss National Museum. \n\n\n\nThe Kunsthaus Zürich is best known for its sculptures of Rodin and Alberto Giacometti. There you will also find world-famous painters like Monet\, Van Gogh\, and Picasso.The Swiss National Museum\, which is right beside the Zürich main train station in a mock-Gothic castle\, showcases creative and interesting displays about Swiss history and culture.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFerry service to Seefeld\n\n\n\nUsually\, a special ferry service connects some of the participating museums in the Seefeld area (Seefeldquartier). Once you have tried the ferry and museum shuttle\, grab a free bicycle courtesy of "Züri rollt" and pedal to your next destination. \n\n\n\nThe museums and art galleries of Zurich enjoy almost 1.5 million visitors a year. DESCRIPTION:Festival Images in Vevey is an enormous street art festival that showcases the best in visual arts. This outdoor experience returns for the eighth time in 2022. \n\n\n\nThose who have followed us may recall that we have visited the Festival Images in previous years. The last edition in 2020 left us with vivid memories of Vevey’s fountains\, buildings\, and parks enveloped in art. \n\n\n\nThe festival organizers have announced various indoor exhibits\, outdoor installations\, and large-scale murals across Vevey this year. And we were stoked to have reported on-site during the opening weekend! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHere are the 2022 Festival Images highlights:\n\n\n\nThis year’s theme is prone to creating a sense of community: Together. La vie ensemble. It illuminates togetherness relating to all aspects of life: culture\, cuisine\, family\, love\, politics\, sports\, religion\, tourism\, science\, and technology. \n\n\n\nThe common theme of photography unites the 50 installations by artists from around the world. Among the 25 nations represented at Festival Images Vevey are Japan\, Guatemala\, Spain\, and South Africa. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow about this temporary minigolf track by Lake Geneva? Each track is built around a photographs\, and some of the challenges are pretty hard... Can you guess who won? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNear Salle del Castillo\, American artist Diana Markosian has recreated her family history as a TV soap opera. Entitled Santa Barbara\, this multimedia experience offers visual storytelling at its best. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTeju Cole\, a Nigerian-American photographer\, has captured tourism in Switzerland from unique vantage points: \n\n\n\nCopyright Teju Cole\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFestival Images is not merely about displaying photographs. It is an immersive experience in that the art is displayed in just the right location. For instance\, this photograph of a cat by Mimi Mollica is inside a building with a mouse door entrance. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter a quick coffee\, we head over to the Swiss Camera Museum. Escapism by Swiss artist Roger Eberhard is a must-see exhibit. Believe it or not\, but each print shows a magnified creamer lid! According to the artist\, these lids allow us to go on micro escapes during everyday life: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDuring the three-week festival\, Vevey is being transformed into an outdoor art museum. We love to go on walks to stumble upon unique murals such as this one by Thomas Struth. It showcases Manhattan in the 1970's.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat are you waiting for? Executive Chef Florian Gilges has created some appetizers\, especially for this cruise. Think Sbrinz mousse or apricot mustard... It will be up to you whether to toast with a glass of bubbly or the boat company’s own brew! \n\n\n\nThe products on the night's menu are regional\, be it the lamb from Göscheneralp or the locally roasted coffee from Rast Kaffee.
