SUMMARY:Turicum Gin Workshop Train (Zürich)
DESCRIPTION:When you step aboard the Roter Pfeil Churchill train\, you might get the feeling that you are entering a James Bond film. \n\n\n\nThe oldest SBB train still in service in Switzerland was built in 1939 for the Swiss National Exhibition. While England's most famous spy may have never taken a ride on the fire engine red train\, its legendary politician Sir Winston Churchill used the train during his 1946 tour of Switzerland. Today\, the one-of-a-kind Red Arrow train is bookable for company events\, weddings\, and other occasions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGetting back to Bond: what's 007's favorite drink? The martini\, shaken\, not stirred\, of course.  \n\n\n\nWhile the shaken-not-stirred preparation has become a classic amongst Martini lovers\, it is the wrong way of preparing a Martini since shaking it can "bruise" the spirits and increase the chance of ice breaking into the drink. The "shaken\, not stirred" expression comes from Sir Ian Flemming trying to show that Bond was uncouth by requesting it. \n\n\n\nEnough about James Bond. Now\, what's the main ingredient of a classic Martini? That's right. It's gin. \n\n\n\nThe juniper-nuanced distillate has been trending for several years\, and the Swiss have had gin-fever for nearly a decade. While new brands pop up like mushrooms\, few have managed to establish themselves as well as Zurich's own Turicum Gin. It's the only distillery within city limits and continually wins awards for the quality of its gin. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEnter the Gin Lab Train Experience\n\n\n\nHaving long had their Gin Lab in the city\, the dynamic team at Turicum has just launched the Gin Lab train with Swiss Railways. What could be a better train than the historic Roter Pfeil Churchill train to hold a gin workshop? \n\n\n\nOn February 12\, 2022\, you are invited to jump onboard and blend your own gin. \n\n\n\nDuring a two-hour roundtrip train journey from Zurich to the Rhine and to Baden\, you will discover the many flavors and scents that get blended into today's gins to make them stand out from the rest. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDo you like your gins more fruity with nuances of strawberry and passion fruit? Or are you into the spicier kinds with notes of oak and ginger? With over 20 different distillates\, you can create a gin that is as singular as you are. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBook your tickets now and learn more about the beautiful Roter Pfeil train and what separates a London Dry Gin from a typical gin - and everything in between. \n\n\n\nAt the end of the voyage\, you will take home a bottle of the gin you have just blended\, Gents Tonic\, and the bar accouterments needed to mix the perfect gin and tonic at home. \n\n\n\nEmbrace your inner James Bond (or Winston Churchill) and jump on the Turicum Gin Workshop train! In the words of Winston Churchill: "Gin and tonic has saved more Englishmen's lives\, and minds\, than all the doctors in the Empire." \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Turicum Gin Workshop at a glance:\n\n\n\nRoundtrip fare on the historic Roter Pfeil train\, including reserved seats and driver's cab visit.Departure from Zürich main station at 3:55 PM\, return at 6:06 PM.Gin creation workshop\, including tasting of different distillates.Complimentary aperitif\, including 2 long drinks\, 1 water\, 1 gin gift case.\n\n\n\nBook a ticket\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChristian LangeneggerBusiness Strategist || Connector || Entrepreneur || Marketer || Writer || Optimist || Runner || Photographer || Epicurean || TEDster

SUMMARY:RhB World Heritage Railway Festival
DESCRIPTION:A bright red train with the awesome backdrop of the Swiss Alps. The red composition snakes among blue lakes\, green meadows and white glaciers. \nMost of us can conjure up this colorful image which often poses as a key visual for the entire railway system of Switzerland. But how many knew that the red train is the Rhaetische Bahn (or RhB)\, and that this train experience in Eastern Switzerland has been under the protection of UNESCO World Heritage? It is safe to say that the Albula and Bernina railway lines are bucket list experiences not only for chasers of UNESCO sites\, but for anyone who calls Switzerland their home. \nThis June\, there will be a train festival to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the UNESCO World Heritage RhB!\nTrainGames - Join with your team! (10 AM - 5 PM)\nAt the train depot in Samedan\, there will be a number of fun activities where you can test your train brain. In one activity\, you will get to experience a day as a railway worker as you prepare a track. Inside the warehouse\, you and your teammates will need to maneuver a trolley while being blindfolded. And for those who want to show off their muscles\, how about operating a locomotive on a turntable? \nMore information \n(Photograph copyright Rhaetische Bahn)\n  \nHistoric locomotives and train coaches\nDuring this weekend only\, historic locomotives will be displayed at the train stations in Samedan and Pontresina. There will be guided tours for the railway enthusiasts who like to know all the facts. And for everyone else\, a selection of trains will act as shuttles between the two stations. On Saturday at 5:30 PM\, make sure to witness the largest ever parade of historic trains as these 13 compositions will be connected! \nMore information and timetable \n(Photograph copyright Rhaetische Bahn) \nAnd much more!\nThe organizers have announced a UNESCO World Heritage street market in Pontresina with activities for the kids\, as well as delicious foods and live music in Samedan. At the Albula Railway Museum in Bergün\, there will be a special exhibit honoring the rail line as well as the fifty other UNESCO sites around the world. \nThe benefits of the festival pass.\nThe best way to experience the RhB Railway Festival is with the festival pass. SUMMARY:Public Opening of the Gotthard Base Tunnel (Uri/Ticino)
DESCRIPTION:This will not be just any other weekend in Switzerland. \nIn fact\, it will be a legendary one\, with the grand opening celebration of the Gotthard Base Tunnel - the longest rail tunnel in the world at 57 km. The imposing project\, symbolizing Swiss values such as innovation\, precision and reliability\, will be there to stay for generations further on.\n  \nThis June 4 and 5\, you can be a part of history at the important and long awaited moment of the tunnel's opening.\nThe official opening takes place on Wednesday\, June 1\, with media and around 1000 guests invited. During the following weekend of June 4 and 5\, a unique festival program awaits everyone at different places around the tunnel entrances.
