SUMMARY:photo19 kicks off Zürich's year of events
DESCRIPTION:This January\, there is a particular event we look forward to the most: photo19. \nIt is always fascinating to view such a wide variety of photographs which were produced by amateurs and professionals alike. From advertising to fashion photography\, and from documentary shots to portraits: photo19 is promising to take us on a journey to places near and far. \nWhile the more than 250 photographers are both national and international\, we always enjoy the honest looks at Switzerland. (We are Newly Swissed\, after all.) Whatever your taste\, go with the flow as visitors meander among the exhibit displays. Keep in mind that all photographs have either been produced at one point during 2018 or have never before been published. Those who are deeper into photography will enjoy photoFORUM\, a podium where renowned photographers share their insights. Or how about picking up some new skills at photoSCHOOL? \nThe venues of photo19 are conveniently located just steps from the Zürich-Oerlikon train station. photo19 will be open daily from 11 AM to 8 PM.

SUMMARY:grafikSCHWEIZ 18 is Switzerland's graphic design exhibit
DESCRIPTION:There is no better place to get a feel for Switzerland’s long history of graphic design than at grafikSCHWEIZ 18. \nThis annual gathering for graphic design\, new media\, games and virtual reality has established itself over the years and we always enjoy going there. With some 130 different national and international artists exhibiting\, it is always a feast for the eyes. From icon design to typography and illustration\, the invited talents will show off their most innovative and relevant body of work. One of the criteria is that works have to have been produced within the prior year. \nIn the past\, we have enjoyed grafikSCHWEIZ for its interactive exhibits such as a drawing wall where visitors were able to express themselves. Oftentimes\, artists are present and eager to answer questions\, adding more depth to this unmissable event. \nHighlights during grafikSCHWEIZ 18\nThis year\, look out for David Boller\, an illustrator who has previously worked for renowned publishers such as Marvel or DC Comics. Along with Michel Fornasier\, he will be unveiling a comic series entitled “Bionicman”. \ngrafikSCHWEIZ 18 will be staged at the formerly industrial Halle 622 in Zürich-Oerlikon. The exhibit will be open daily from 11 AM to 8 PM.

DESCRIPTION:Zürich is once again hosting the photography exhibit photo15. This year marks the 10th anniversary\, which speaks to the popularity of Switzerland’s largest photography exhibit. \nThe organizers of photo15 have invited some 125 Swiss (and some international) photographers to highlight their best photographic work. We believe that the formerly industrial halls of Maag are a perfect setting for photography. Last year alone\, some 23‘000 visitors have mingled among the artwork during the weekend exhibit. \nThere will be special exhibits at the Flux Laboratory in the nearby Schiffbau: “PRIVATE! A SMALL COLLECTION” and “A BLAST FROM THE PAST – HOLLYWOODS SECRET GAY AFFAIR”. \nAdditionally\, the photoFORUM will host the world renowned war photographer James Nachtwey.
