DESCRIPTION:In comparison to the other Swiss Jazz festivals\, Zurich’s JAZZNOJAZZ feels like the naughty sibling. \nWillisau may be intimate\, Ascona revels in open-air romance and traditional sounds. And\, of course\, Montreux is the big brother. Meanwhile\, JAZZNOJAZZ takes over the urban center of Zurich and invites acts who play on the very fringes of the Jazz genre. In fact\, you will rarely find a pure Jazz act playing over the autumn week in which JAZZNOJAZZ lands. \nHighlights of JAZZNOJAZZ 2019\nThis year the festival comes of age\, celebrating its 21th anniversary with as eclectic line-up as ever. Buy one of the coveted day passes and you are just as likely to be watching a legendary super group as discovering a new favorite. \nWednesday\, Oct 30\, 2019\nThe opening Wednesday sees Bugge Wesseltoft return to Zurich with his new Scandanavian trio\, Rymden. Bringing dramatic build-ups and looping melodies that distort and develop\, Rymden’s debut album is both tender and dramatic. \n \nExpect the same from their live show\, which is presented alongside rising UK star Ashley Henry. In contrast\, Wednesday also sees performances from Charles Lloyd\, who excels in easy listening Jazz\, and John McLaughlin\, a master of intricate guitar. \nThursday\, Oct 31\, 2019\nThe second night sees a Brazilian band with a mythical status: Amymuth will bring Latin flair with their unique fusion of Jazz\, samba and electronica. In fact\, it will be a night of performances from exotic locations\, with Cuba (Chucho Valdés and Juan de Marcos’ Afro-Cuban All Stars)\, Brazil (Azymuth) and\, errr\, Leeds (the Haggis Horns) all represented. \nBringing the buzz will be current star of the rambunctious London Jazz scene\, Kamaal Williams. \nFriday\, Nov 1\, 2019\nOn Friday\, things get acid-Jazz tinged as The Brand New Heavies and Morcheeba hit the stage. There is also treat in store with legendary Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen. \nBut probably most exciting is a first visit to Zurich for the UK’s hottest act\, The Comet is Coming. With an album exuding energy and defying convention at every turn\, this show will be a highlight of the weekend for many. \nSaturday\, Nov 2\, 2019\nSaturday starts early with Erika Stucky & FM Unit playing a family concert at 4 PM. As the evening arrives\, things will get a disco vibe with 80s stalwarts Level 42\, as well as Al McKay’s Earth Wind and Fire Experience. \nFinally\, expect a party-like finale with a third and final “Late Night Sessions” performance from Haggis Horns. Or choose live favorites Lucky Chops\, whose horn section covers are the perfect way to end the week. Get ready to hoist your hands in the air for their rousing version of Adele’s “Hello”! \nTickets are available for individual shows or as day-passes. DESCRIPTION:These two singer-songwriters are the real deal. Their songs are raw\, beautiful and – I have to admit\, mostly tear-jerkers. They both have the most soothing and gentle voices and an incredible talent for lyrics and for creating magnificent songs. \nOf course\, I am talking about William Fitzsimmons and Joshua Radin.\nIn the past\, I have seen Joshua Radin perform in various constellations: with a full band\, with a guitar player or solo. (Either way\, he never disappoints.) However\, solo performances with just his wonderful voice and his guitar are the best. His vocals are always on point and the songs are so beautifully written and constructed\, they will give you goosebumps. \nWilliam Fitzsimmons has the most comforting and gentle songs\, if you do not pay attention to the lyrics. If you do\, you will literally feel his pain. But even the saddest songs have something so unique and beautiful. He also has quite a dark sense of humor which he will probably be showing off between his songs. \nThese two have been on a tour together earlier this year and sold out many of the venues throughout the United States. You now have the chance to witness two amazing artists at the Kaufleuten in Zürich on October 5\, 2018. If you are a lover of acoustic folk\, you are in for a treat and should not miss this concert evening! \nMore information and tickets

Their music “crosses genres such as classical\, Latin\, jazz and classic pop\,” according to Wikipedia. \nPink Martini’s “Souvenir Tour”\nThe location they have picked for their 2016 tour? The stage in the beautiful atmosphere of the Kaufleuten concert hall in Zürich. Given the name of the show\, we can expect lots of classics such as “Dream a little dream” or “Kuroneko no tango”… \nThose lucky enough to have been to a concert before have said that Pink Martini must be experienced live. The band seems to visibly enjoy every performance\, and we heard that audience participation is a big thing\, too.
