SUMMARY:Night at the Museum (Basel)
DESCRIPTION:You will get a chance to explore Basel’s museums and their special Museums Night events during an eight hour night expedition. \nFrom 6 PM until 2 AM\, there is a packed program that includes about 200 different events and 37 museums: Workshops\, performances\, readings\, film presentations and much more. Each institution provides culinary delicacies from all over the world.  \nIf you like jazz\, come to the beautiful Basler Münster and listen to some live tunes while having a glass of Glühwein. Or if bananas are more your thing\, the Botanical Gardens have a special treat for you. \nYou can also hop on one of the free buses and cross the border to Germany to see the Vitra Design Museum. Have a drink at the Bauhaus bar and listen to three designers speak about their work. \nDrop by the city archive to learn everything about Russia\, from history to the involvement of spies. There is also a guided tour every full hour starting at 7 PM. \n(Photograph copyright by museen basel)\n  \nMore Information\nMake sure you plan ahead as there are so many things going on this night. You will not be able to see everything\, for sure. \nYou can get a Museumsnacht ticket at any museum during the night or at the any information booth. This ticket gets you into all of the museums and attractions which includes public transportation. All for just 24 francs\, and if you are under 26 you get in for free! Make sure you take a plan of the eve with you\, there are great tour suggestions in case you get overwhelmed by what to do and see. \nSo\, get ready for a night of creativity and be prepared for a lot of people! It gets quite crowded!
