SUMMARY:15th International Old Time Country Festival (Winkel)
DESCRIPTION:This coming Saturday\, you have the opportunity to check out some of Switzerland’s best Old Time Country bands including Big Stone\, Mala & FyrMoon\, and Bluegrass Boogiemen. \nBig STONE Old Time Country Band is one of the few bands in Switzerland that have really taken on Old Time Music\, continuing the tradition of the old string bands. They essentially play music from the early years of country music. Bluegrass\, which emerged from this tradition\, also rounds off the band’s repertoire. \nMala & FyrMoon is a young and promising band with influences of bluegrass\, Americana and folk. In a very short time\, the band has managed to find their own unique style and attract audiences to dance\, dream and be carried away by their sound. \nIn July 2014\, the group was invited to play at the renowned three-day Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival where they played with the likes of Del McCoury\, the Gibson Brothers\, Carolina Chocolate Drops\, Tim O’Brien and Darrell Scott\, Claire Lynch band\, Della Mae\, The Steel Wheels and many more. \nThe Blue Grass Boogiemen from the Netherlands have been touring professionally since 1990 through Europe and the USA and are among Europe’s most successful bluegrass bands. \nThey regularly play in Ireland\, England\, France\, Germany and Switzerland. They have toured seven times in the homeland of Bluegrass (the United States) and have shared the stage with the greats of country and bluegrass music like Willie Nelson\, Emmylou Harris\, the Osborne Brothers\, Jim and Jesse\, Chris Hillman\, and Rose Maddox\, to name a few. \n  \nInternational Old Time Country Festival\nThe doors will open at 6 PM to the sounds of the Zurich based Roustabouts. Please note that pre-ordered tickets must be picked up at the box office no later than 7:30 PM. Remaining tickets will be sold thereafter. Guests will have enough time to have a drink with friends in the foyer and then enjoy a hot meal in the hall while perusing various stalls set up in the foyer.
