DESCRIPTION:Every year the steel framed stage at the Thunerseespiele is reborn once again to delight the spectators with world-renowned plays. This year\, it is the musical CATS that is taking over the spotlight\, being presented open-air for the first time in Switzerland. \nA musical for cat lovers (and non-cat lovers\, for that matter)\nOnce a year\, the Jellicle cats gather for a ball where one by one they reveal their colorful personalities. Will your favorite feline be the brave Munkustrap\, the magical Mr. Mistoffelees or\, perhaps\, the forgiveness-seeking Grizabella? \nNot a cat person? The carefully thought-out choreography of CATS\, the sheer wonder of human body’s limberness\, costumes and stage decorations of the musical might convince you otherwise (at least for the night). \n \nWhether you have seen CATS or you are a newcomer to the world of musicals\, the two hour long show will leave you full of energy and remain humming the catchy tunes also a few days after. \nCATS on water\nIf there is anything that gives you goose bumps\, that would be listening to Grizabella sing “Memory” with the daylight slowly fading away\, the surrounding mountains gaining more of a dramatic appearance\, and far village lights flickering on the surface of the lake. \nThe up to 18 meter high stage is entirely built on water and offers staggering views over the Bernese Oberland belonging to the UNESCO World Heritage.
