Shops and restaurants in the heart of Gruyère’s old town will take care of sweet and savory treats. From an alpine soup to Älpler Magronen\, different cakes to double cream candy… In previous years\, there was even a workshop to learn how this dangerously delicious mass is being made. \n\n\n\nAre the local bakers and confectioners going to try and break the world record by creating the largest meringue in the world? It remains to be seen. But if they do\, you can buy a chunk of meringue with a big dip of double cream on top! \n\n\n\nThe Double Cream Festival program also includes folk music\, cow parades\, and special exhibitions of double cream spoons and ancient agricultural machines.
