SUMMARY:Ludwig Van Beethoven Festival - Concert Series in Lugano
DESCRIPTION:Here is an exciting event series for lovers of classical music: the Ludwig Van Beethoven Festival. \nDuring the weekend of Pentecost\, the LAC Lugano and its partners will host a festival dedicated to the great German composer. For one\, there will be a multimedia installation exploring the role of Beethoven’s music in contemporary media. \nThe resident orchestra will perform two of Beethoven’s odd symphonies inside the gorgeous concert hall of the LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura. \nAnd as a grand finale\, there will be an outdoor concert at Piazzia Luini in front of the lakeside museum. Beethoven’s ninth symphony with more than 200 choir singers from all over Ticino will surely be a memorable “Ode to Joy”… Did we mention the grand finale is free of charge? \nThe concert program of the Ludwig Van Beethoven Festival\nThe Orchestra della Svizzera italiana is conducted by the artistic director\, Markus Poschner. On two nights this June\, they will perform works by Ludwig Van Beethoven as part of this festival. \nFriday\, June 7\, 8:30 PM\nThe Symphony No. 1 in C major\, Op. 21\, was dedicated to an early patron of Beethoven. \nSaturday\, June 8\, 8:30 PM\nThe Symphony No. 3 in E major\, Op. 55\, is one of Beethoven’s most celebrated works. \nSunday\, June 9\, 9:00 PM\nAn outdoor concert of Symphony No. 9 which is open to the public at no charge. \nWe are very excited to finally enjoy a symphony orchestra in the gorgeous concert hall of the LAC Lugano! \nA collaboration among Lugano five-star hotels and the LAC Lugano\nThis music festival is a collaboration among Lugano’s five-star hotels. We will be staying right next door at the Hotel Splendide Royal. \nThis five-star hotel celebrates its 125th anniversary and is known for its Belle Epoque theme. The hotel offers an attractive special including the room and concert tickets. Join us and book a night at the Hotel Splendide Royal in Lugano! \n

SUMMARY:TEDxLugano 2017 - Professions of the future
DESCRIPTION:My relationship with TED talks can be best described in two phases. First\, as a traveller I used to watch the talks whenever I found time – whether it was in an airport\, a hotel room or while in public transport. The second phase is much more intense\, as in the last five years\, I have been working closely with the TEDx community. \nInteresting topics at TEDxLugano\nWhich made me think: “When was the last time I sat among the audience and watched a live TEDx talk?” I attended TEDx Youth in Adliswil two years ago. And this year\, I am looking forward to visiting a new city where the TEDx event will be hosted: Lugano. \nYou don’t need many reasons to visit Ticino. (It’s beautiful there.) But this Saturday\, I am excited to be part of the audience for TEDxLugano. It will be Lugano’s fourth TEDx edition\, and the topic is dear to me: “Professions of the Future”. \nAs an entrepreneur\, I am sensitive to topics that define the way we work moving forward. Leadership and storytelling are some of the key topics that remain relevant\, and I am curious to know what Fateme Banishoeib\, a leadership consultant and poet\, will share with us. \nAnother area that is key in a start-up business is visibility. We live in a chaotic digital world and it is going to get worse unless we learn the art of constant adaptation in digital marketing and branding. Ale Agostini will talk about his expertise in digital marketing while Dorie Clark will throw some insights on branding. \nAs the Artificial Intelligence advancement continues\, there are many a reason why one must pay close attention to these developments. Automation is here to stay and it can serve as an excellent tool if we understand and make it to work to our needs. Anna Valente\, Wyatt Newman\, Behshad Behzadi\, Jami El-Imad\, Henrique Jorge and Kathryn Hess Bellwald touch upon the wide field of computer science and its applications. \nThough there are many start-ups on the rise\, one must not forget that the corporates are going to stay. They will remain relevant if they adopt the cultural sensitivities in the open market that the world of business operates. Every start-up aims to go big sometime and understanding corporate culture will help in hiring smart people and solving problems better. \nHarald Port talks about creating business values in his talk.\nFrank Barkow is an architect and I am keen to know from an architect’s perspective about their challenges involved with advancing technology and the need for sustainable buildings. \nAs you can tell\, I am excited about the speaker’s line-up.\nWhat am I hoping for? As always\, to get inspired! And most importantly\, to learn something new and network with other audience members. \n
