SUMMARY:Wines and Sausages from the Romandie (Zürich)
DESCRIPTION:As we go around the six Welsch cantons of the Romandie\, we will be tasting wines from autochtonous grape varieties (Plan Robert\, Cabernet Jura)\, as well as original interpretations of more common grape varieties. \nWe will be pairing the wines with delicious meat products chosen among the dozens of Swiss sausages. We will taste typical sausages from Romandie with their specific recipes (fennel or cumin seeds) or particular methods of production (drying or smoking). Sausages all have a story to tell\, between past memories\, histories of poverty or richness\, and current anectodes. \nThis course is part of the Welschanschauung Series and will take place in English. SUMMARY:Welsch-anschauung - Craft Beer & Cheese from the Romandie (Zürich)
DESCRIPTION:One thing we have in common across the infamous “Röstigraben” is that we understand “bière/Bier” and “fromage/Käse” in each others’ languages. \nA traditional view of our country explains that the “North” is attached to a beer-making tradition\, while the “South” is bathed in the wine civilization. A favorite among the Romands is the coup de blanc. Fun fact: Of the 15 hectares of Swiss vineyards\, three quarters are in Romandie. \n  \nWelsch-anschauung Workshop in Zürich\nBut in the past years\, many craft breweries have emerged in the French speaking parts of Switzerland\, pairing wonderfully with some of the best cheese in the Switzerland. During this evening\, we will go on a tour of the six cantons of Romandie to taste six beers and kinds of cheese. \nThis workshop is part of the Welsch-anschauung Series.
