Neuchâtel was selected as the Ville du Goût for 2017. Our contributor, Heddi, is lucky enough to live there. And during the Semaine du Goût, she will give you guys a taste of her hometown.
Heddi’s guided tour of Neuchâtel’s city center is held in English. In the 90 minute excursion, you will surely learn a lot about food culture in the French speaking part of Switzerland. Heddi promises that you will get plenty of chances to taste the food, too…
The hidden food side of Neuchâtel
During the tour, Heddi will share some of her favorite spots in Neuchâtel where you can purchase locally made foods such as cheese, chocolate, bread and wine. You will be able to take part in dégustations (tastings) at five different locations. She will also talk about the history of these local shops as you wander through the city center, with its limestone buildings – described by the French writer Alexandre Dumas as looking like they were carved out of butter.
If you have any questions or would like to sign up for the Culinary Walking Tour of Neuchâtel’s City Center, please send an email to Heddi at email@example.com. The number of places is limited, so please reserve your space early to guarantee a spot.
Cost: CHF 30, per person.
