The Nihon Matsuri Festival at the Bern Historical Museum is a celebration of Japanese culture. From workshops to entertainment and Japanese food, this festival offers a perfect little escape to the Land of the Rising Sun.

For the first time, there will be a market highlighting about 20 vendors of anime, games, sweets, and Japanese crafts. We are particularly looking forward to the many food stalls offering Japanese delights.

Saturday highlights at the Nihon Matsuri 2022 in Bern:

  • Aikido, kenjutsu, kyudo, and jodo performances
  • Shamisen performance in the museum's park
  • Bon odori Japanese dancing for all ages

Sunday highlights:

  • Kendo, judo, iaido und shorinji kempo performances (incl. workshops for some of these sports)
  • Musical performances by a Japanese choir and taiko drummers

Throughout the weekend, sharpen your skills in workshops for origami, manga art, calligraphy, or furoshiki.
