The Samurai Legend at the Bern Historical Museum

Nov 4, 2021 - Aug 28, 2022

The temporary exhibit The Samurai Legend in Bern is a rare opportunity to learn about samurai culture.

This unique opportunity is thanks to a special exhibit at the Bern Historical Museum. From the dawn of samurai to their role in popular culture, more than 200 artifacts from a private collection give a comprehensive overview. The Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller collection from Dallas, Texas, is also referred to as "The Samurai Collection".

The Samurai Legend features arms and armor, including weapons, helmets, masks, and horse equipment. As if the displays were not fascinating enough, a free audio guide adds even more depth to many of the items. Figures are brought to life thanks to insights by the curators.
