The musical is set on a full moon night in a London junkyard. Once a year, this is where the Jellicle cats meet for a ball. And so, little by little, the junkyard becomes alive with cats of all types.
Each cat has a colorful personality, such as the brave Munkustrap and the forgiveness-seeking Grizabella. Everyone is fighting for the attention of one particular cat: the magical Mr. Mistoffelees.
Here's a fun fact: the songs in the CATS musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber are based on the 1939 poetry collection Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot.
