What if Cirque du Soleil were to tell the evolution of mankind?
The result is TOTEM, another milestone performance in the history of the Canadian circus. Since its initial showing in 2010, TOTEM has put a spell on more than five million spectators in more than 40 cities worldwide.
What TOTEM by Cirque du Soleil is all about
Anyone who has ever seen a performance by Cirque du Soleil knows that they are known for the extravaganza. For TOTEM alone, the circus troupe will be rolling into Zürich with a team of 46 artists, actors, singers, musicians and a stage in the shape of a gigantic turtle! For the time being, they will put up their tent city on the grounds of the future Hardturm soccer stadium in Zürich West. (Those who have visited the summer’s street food festival will know exactly where this is.)
From our species’ amphibian origins to the first flight by humankind, TOTEM is promising to take us on a visual and artistic journey. Our species is known for the drive to excel, to go ever higher, faster and further. This type of curiosity will be the common thread throughout the evening.
