Those who love circus performances as much as we do know one thing: many of the best troupes originate from Montréal, Canada.
This March, meet a circus company that has been touring the world for a quarter century! Who knows how many different hotels the performers of Montréal’s Cirque Eloize have stayed at while traveling to 550 cities in 50 countries? Possibly, their lifestyle as juggling globetrotters has inspired them for the theme of their anniversary program, entitled “Hotel”…
What is “Hotel” by Cirque Eloize all about?
There is an elevator attendant doing somersaults, a concierge juggling with luggage, and a housekeeper on a tight rope… Can you see the pattern here? An entire hotel with its staff and guests will be the stage for the evening’s performance.
Straight from the European opening in London, Cirque Éloize will be bringing their imaginary hotel to audiences in Zürich! From the trailer, we can tell that this unique and unusual hotel is inspired by the French Art Deco period.
And from the website, we gather that we will be witnessing mind-boggling stories involving acrobatics and stunning visuals… In their own words: “(It’s) the story of a place and travelers, a stopover where lives intersect, collide and juxtapose for a brief time to generate tales and memories.”
Are you ready for a memorable night out? It will be a mix of circus, theater and live music, so there is something for everyone in your party!
