Cows wearing flower crowns, looking their best and posing in front of... the parliament building!
That's the Sichlete folk festival in Bern. The "Sichlete" festival celebrates the arrival of the harvest time and is a colorful mix of an alpine descent tradition, cow beauty pageant and livestock exhibition. It even involves a cowbell ringer performance.
Besides witnessing the selection of the most beautiful cows of them all (Miss Sichlete 2018), you can also visit an adorable petting zoo, see cow milking demonstrations and listen to the sound of alphorns while eating some local delicacies right in the heart of the Swiss capital.
She is into travelling, photography, handicrafts and online marketing. She doesn't spend the weekends home, and she will never say "no" to an invitation to go hiking in the mountains.
