Viva Frida Kahlo! Exhibit in Zurich
Sep 22, 2021 - Jan 2, 2022
Immerse yourself in the colorful and surreal world of Mexican artist/feminist icon Frida Kahlo at the MAAG Lichthalle in Zürich.
Running from Sept 22 through Jan 2, 2022, the exhibition combines video projections, light, and sound. You will feel like you’ve just wandered off Planet Earth and stepped into Kahlo’s fascinating mind, surrounded by exotic plants, quirky animals, and dreamlike symbolism.
Frida Kahlo explored her identity and pain through her art. A mixed-race woman who spent a lot of her young adult life confined to a hospital bed, she later underwent a public, tumultuous relationship with fellow artist Diego Rivera.
Rich with symbolism, her work remains a fascination to young people today. Kahlo is widely regarded as an icon for her unique personality, fashion sense, and (at the time) radical views on womanhood.
If you need a little break from reality as the months get colder, this immersive exhibition is the perfect escape for the entire family!
