The days are getting colder and the Alps are already snow covered. Meanwhile, posters of the Tanguera musical have appeared all over Zürich – providing some welcome visual hotspots.
Described as “provocative, sensual and erotic”, Tanguera is promising to be quite the firecracker: The musical tells the story of Giselle, a young immigrant to Argentina at the beginning of the 20th century.
The promised life in Buenos Aires did not quite pan out for her as Giselle ends up as a tango dancer in a nightclub. Trapped in the claws of the underworld, Giselle tries to break away in order to be with the love of her life, dock worker Lorenzo.
Audiences in all parts of the world have been captivated by this story told through Argentinian tango. Tanguera is the world’s first ever tango musical, combining memorable choreography with impressive light effects and live music.
Now it is our turn to soak up some South American heat and fire on the 30 dancers that make up the dance company of Tanguera!
