Hiking in Blooming Braunwald

A week ago, we decided to escape the hot summer weather and cool off in the Swiss mountains. Thankfully, our cat started begging for food at the break of dawn, so we were up and running in no time to check the monthly specials by the Swiss railway (SBB). Having heard much about the vacation destination of Braunwald in the canton of Glarus, we decided to buy a combo deal including the rail pass, incline ticket and coupons for local stores and restaurants. And we didn’t regret it!

Wherever you may be, we hope to inspire you to someday grab your rucksack, hiking boots and camera and head up to Braunwald! The combo offer is valid through the end of October 2010, but the Alpine flowers will most likely give way to the season’s first snow by then…

Have you ever visited Braunwald? Which is your favorite season?
