Gourmet Weeks with S.Pellegrino Sapori Ticino

This autumn is shaping up to be a foodie’s dream. S.Pellegrino Sapori Ticino continues its tradition of inviting Italian top chefs into their kitchens.

For the 15th edition of the fine-dining event series, the organizers have once again selected some of the finest hosts in Ticino. Six of the hotels on the program are luxurious Swiss Deluxe Hotels (and favorites of ours): Hotel Splendide Royal, Eden Roc Ascona, Castello del Sole, Widder Hotel, Hotel Schweizerhof Bern, and Lausanne Palace.

While the event series traditionally focuses on Ticino hotels, it will jump across the Swiss Alps for its grand finale. The prestigious Gala Dinners are taking place in Zürich, Bern, and Lausanne. Reservations for any of the official evenings are open to the public, so do not hesitate to RSVP below.


Ticino meets the regions of Italy

For nearly seven weeks, some of the top chefs in Ticino are collaborating with their Italian colleagues. This companionship is what makes S.Pellegrino Sapori Ticino so unique: it allows Michelin-starred chefs from Italy to discover the culinary heritage of Ticino - and vice versa.

On the one hand, Italian chefs from two-starred Michelin kitchens might learn about Ticino specialties such as Valle Maggia Pepper, or farina bona corn flour from Valle Onsernone.

At the same time, those same chefs are bringing their finest ingredients and wines from Italy to Ticino. From alpine South Tyrol to the lakes and even Sicily, the dishes on this year’s menu will show the incredible variety of tastes that Italy offers.

Wine pairings promise to be spot on, complementing the dishes for a full flavor experience. Italy and Ticino are naturally bordering one another, so it will be interesting to taste some vintages from Tuscany, meanwhile imagining the Ticino vineyards we have just visited this year.
