Incredible Pictures of Geneva’s Frozen Lake Shores

Some years, Europeans can be freezing their fannies off.

So it happened in 2012 when record temperatures in Switzerland have been in the double-digits for days – negative double-digits, that is! Public transportation has been disrupted in many parts, water pipes have burst and even ski lifts are at risk of collapsing. But these arctic conditions are also creating some rather fascinating sculptures of ice, as Geneva’s lake shores have been frozen over!
